Adaptation of an Internet story into the gallery space
„What will you actually show at the exhibition?” That question, asked by my friends, is a source of consternation, because what I intend to show does not have a name yet. However, not wanting to leave them without an answer, I multiply my explanations, with each being equally true and incomplete at the same time:
- It is a translation… of a book… into a gallery space
- An exposition of graphic prose
- The literary arrangement of space
- A story told in a specific interior, because in another interior the same story would look different.
- A kind of literary game
At the source of the idea is the desire to create a form that will facilitate linkage between word and image, art and psychotherapy, Internet space and physical space, virtual reality and the real world and, above all, between the author and audience. That is why I consider the gallery guests Exhibition Users and encourage them to LITERA-lly transform the space.
The starting point is my book www.terapia.me (the title is also the page address). It is a particular book, „literally” the recording of about a dozen meetings of a nonexistent Internet therapy group, the Making-Dreams-Reality Virtual Workshops. Therefore, my exhibition is a kind of adaptation of an Internet story into the gallery space. It is an interactive adaptation, because it allows users to step into the shoes of the Virtual Dreamers (book characters) and learn the ways in which therapeutic fonts may be useful.
